Important Question

I just have one question for you. Where are you going? We live in a fast paced world where everyone is in a hurry to get from one thing to another. Many times we forget some very important things in our lives simply because we are just too busy! However, there is one thing that we can’t forget about and we have to consider because one day everyone will be faced with this situation – death. Everyone dies. Its a fact of life. We’ve all lost loved ones due to sickness and disease or a terrible accident. It’s a real thing that will happen. Death is not the end though. After someone dies they either go to heaven or they go to hell. Both of these places are very real.

The Bible says that “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:22-23). What is sin? Simply put sin is anything we say, think or do that is in disobedience of what God has told us. The Bible points out very clearly that there is no one on earth who is perfect. Everyone has sinned and that sin keeps us from being with God. Sin = separation (death) from God for eternity. That is the penalty for sin.

The Bible also teaches us that there is nothing we can do to be saved from this sin.  “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)  Nothing we can do will ever save us from the penalty of sin.

However, there is hope! Romans 5:8 says that, ” God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” His love for us (sinners) was so much that He sent Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sins. “For God so loved the world,that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Without FAITH in Jesus Christ there is no hope for sinners. “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” (John 3:36) Only through faith in Jesus Christ can someone obtain eternal life, which is spent with God in heaven!

YOU can have eternal life right now and can know where you are going once you leave this world. John 6:47 says this, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.” All you have to do is accept Jesus Christ as Lord of your life and believe (have faith) that He died and paid the penalty for your sins.

I ask that you seriously think about where you would go if you where to die today. Would you go to heaven and be with the God who created you or would you go to hell and be eternally seperate from the love of God?
